PIETRA L 06 DOORSTOP
PIETRA L 06 DOORSTOP
Designed By Piero Lissoni
Piero Lissoni has taken every day items for the home and reinterpreted them in novel ways, using natural stone as the starting point. Umbrella stands, door stops, trays and other items are transformed from banal, functional objects into arresting, elegant feature pieces. The L Collection 06 doorsteps in a choice of red and black marble, combined with a steel decorative hook.
DESIGNER
PIERO LISSONI
Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni approaches his work with a mastery of proportion and an acute sensibility for detail that distinguishes the extraordinary from the commonplace.
A graduate of Milan Polytechnic, Lissoni worked as an art director and designer with Boffi Kitchens before opening Studio Lissoni with Nicoletta Canesi in 1986.
A decade later they created Graphx, and went on to become a name to be reckoned with in the fields of industrial design, graphic design, architecture and interiors together with brand image. Today the combined Lissoni Studios employ over seventy architects, designers and graphic artists.
Boasts a client list that includes Alessi, Boffi, Cassina, Kartell, Knoll and Flos. On the architectural side, Piero has added the Lissoni touch to the Bently Design Hotel Istanbul, the Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel Venice, the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Tokyo and a host of other stunning hospitality destinations around the world.
INFORMATION
WOOD
Please avoid using detergents on wood and always dry it carefully after cleaning to prevent streaks or patches forming. Remember that wood is a natural material and can be delicate and photosensitive. Exposure to light, heat or damp may cause slight discolouration or minor adjustments in size, but this is entirely normal and shouldn’t be considered a defect.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
All pieces from the Pietra L Collection leave our factory in Tuscany pre-sealed. That said, please bear in mind that there is no sealer on the market that can make natural stone 100% stain proof, especially if you leave the staining agent on it for a prolonged period. The sealant allows you to have a few hours between the moment the staining agent comes in contact with the stone and the moment you wipe it off, which is why you should remove any mark as quickly as possible. Cleaning is very simple – just wipe it down with water or a neutral detergent applied to a soft cloth, but please don’t use abrasive cleaners, bleach or acid as these can damage the lovely natural stone.
That said, please bear in mind that there is no sealer on the market that can make natural stone 100% stain proof, especially if you leave the staining agent on it for a prolonged period. The sealant acts as a temporary barrier that allows you to have a few hours between the moment a staining substance (for example, wine or coffee) comes into contact with the stone and the moment you wipe it off. The important thing is to act quickly before a substance is absorbed into the stone, as that is when it causes staining.
Please DO NOT use cleaners containing abrasive cleansers, ammonia, bleach, acid or even those “homemade remedies” made from lemon, vinegar and the like. If you are a particularly assiduous cleaner or you have difficulty removing a mark, you can use specialist stone cleaning products and, if to set your mind at rest you can periodically apply a new coat of sealant. For cleaning stone, wood and metal, simply use a soft cloth with water or a neutral detergent.
