Salvatori Paperweight
PAPERWEIGHT
A deceptively simple piece in gorgeous Arabescato Corchia marble — characterised by striking swathes of grey veins — this paperweight was designed by Michael Anastassiades whilst developing his ‘Love Me, Love Me Not’ collection of tables for Salvatori.
In 'slicing' the table leg, Michael created the simple yet highly distinctive petal-like form which ensures this paperweight is not only a useful object but a beautiful work of art in its own right.
Anastassiades, known for his exploration of contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture and environmental design, positions his work between fine art and design.
The paperweight comes in two contrasting but harmonious forms and is ideal displayed either as a matching set, or with one of Salvatori’s complementary table and desktop items such as Gravity or Kilos.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Before our paperweights leave our workshop in Tuscany, we apply three coats of the highest possible level of protective penetrating sealant to preserve both the piece itself and the natural feel of the gorgeous Statuario marble. However, please bear in mind that there is no sealer on the market that can make natural stone 100% stain proof, especially if you leave the staining agent on it for a prolonged period. The sealant allows you to have a few hours between the moment the staining agent (for example, coffee or perfume) comes in contact with the stone and the moment you wipe it off. So, if coffee somehow spills on your paperweight, you will need to wipe it off within a few hours to avoid permanent staining. As far as maintenance goes, DO NOT use cleaners containing abrasive cleansers, ammonia, bleach, acid or even those “homemade remedies” made from lemon, vinegar and the like. Simply use water or a neutral detergent. It will be more than enough.
