INSPIRATION
Designed by Cristina Celestino, the Belle-épine cushion's fabric takes its inspiration from the fruit and vegetable display, as well as the arabesque motifs, found on Henri Matisse's Intérieur aux Aubergines painting from 1911, widely considered one of the artist's most decorative works.

ARTS AND MATERIALS
QUALITY
Thanks to its ultra-soft texture, the Belle-épine cushion invites comfort and conviviality, creating a sensory experience conducive to a relaxing atmosphere. Made from a jacquard fabric in an all-over pattern, it is woven using natural fibers in a traditional Italian workshop, whose craftsmanship dates back to the 18th century.
Made in a contrasting trim, the ruffles bordering this designer cushion give it an ornamental feel. The cushion is sold with its insert and the cover can be removed for easy cleaning.
It is available in two color schemes: presented here in duck green, red and blue tones, it also comes in an ochre, blue and red version.
Using a jacquard loom to weave the fabric produces a unique and sophisticated texture. Numerous weaving tests were carried out in order to achieve the four different colors designed by Cristina Celestino.
The opaque aspect of the cotton creates a contrast with the semi-glossy appearance of the natural viscose, adding a sense of depth to the pattern.
