GARDEN LAYERS DIAGONAL ALMOND-IVORY BIG MATTRESS

This large fringed mattress is the Diagonal Almond-Ivory model from the Garden Layers outdoor collection, which also includes rugs, rolls, cushions, beds and side tables. Its fabric, with a diagonal weave made with pearly and almond-colored threads, is made on manual looms with soft, special polypropylene outdoor fibers, which are as pleasant to the touch as natural ones. Its filling is quick-drying foam rubber.

It is designed for multiple uses: it can be placed on the rugs of the same series to lie or sit down in an informal way. It can also be used on the Indian beds of the same collection, or on other benches or furniture you may already have. In combination with the Garden Layers rolls and cushions, it becomes practically a sofa, on which you can relax outdoors or sunbathe.

PATRICIA URQUIOLA, DESIGNER OF THE GARDEN LAYERS COLLECTION 

Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer of Spanish origin who settled in Italy after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1989. After working with Italian masters of design such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti, she founded her own studio in 2001. Since then, she has tackled very diverse projects, from furniture and lighting to ephemeral installations or the integral design of hotels. Her sensitivity to traditional handmade objects and international cooperation in the field of handmade productions led to the start of a fruitful collaboration in 2004 with GAN, which continues to this day.

Inspired by architectures and customs of Mughal origin, the designs of Garden Layers bear the unmistakable stamp of designer Patricia Urquiola, who reinterpreted Oriental culture and tradition in her first outdoor collection for GAN.
