Casalis Unfold Rug
Unfold RUG
UNFOLD RUG
Designed by Onno Raadersma
Inspired by unfolding a little box of beautiful materials and colours, the new, hand-crafted carpets made of 100% bamboo or 100% wool yarn, bring together a harmonious blend of mottled colours to create an eye-catching piece.
DESIGNER
ONNO RAADERSMA
Producing designs is more than just a job for the Dutchman Onno Raadersma. It is his talent and his passion. This is obvious from the highly graphic nature of his designs that combine a penchant for light Scandinavian design with a fascination for traditional shapes and the use of hand-drawn and floral motifs.
His graphically ornamental designs, therefore, exude an unmistakably contemporary feel. It is hardly surprising that many manufacturers and stylists at home and abroad are keen to engage him as often as they can.
But that does not stop him going his own way: he set up MO-Studio with Rotterdam photographer Magri Geerlinks and he also regularly exhibits his own collection at design fairs in Belgium, Germany, France and Italy, and beyond.

SHAPE AND SIZE
All carpets are made to measure, there are no standard sizes available. All sizes are possible. The maximum width is 500 cm and the maximum length 1000 cm
DEVIATIONS TO SIZE AND SAHPE
Because Casalis carpets are made by hand, slight deviations in shape and size can occur. These imperfections are part and parcel of a carpet made by hand and consequently cannot be valid grounds for complaints.
SPECIFIC MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
-Vacuum cleaner: In the beginning, the carpet will lose fibres. Use the vacuum cleaner regularly to remove loose fibres.
- Cleaning instructions: Available under downloads of Bamboo on our website.
- Can sunlight fade the carpet? Sjette is fairly lightfast. nevertheless, it is better not to expose carpets to direct sunlight.
- How visible are imprints of e.g? chair or tabel legs? Bamboo yarn has no resilience, therefore the use of carpet protectors are absolutely necessary.
SPECIFIC USER INSTRUCTIONS
USE AS WALL-TO-WALL CARPET
The Vlas quality can also be used as a wall-to-wall carpet. In that case, the carpet will be made in the shape of the surface of the floor with a little extra on the sides allowing it to be cut to size once in situ. Next, the carpet is glued to the floor or stretched between the walls. Stretching has the advantage that the carpet can be taken out again in a simple way. Ask a professional interior decorator which method is best suited to the room in question
AGEING
All objects are subject to ageing, as are carpets. Turning the carpet at regular intervals ensures even ageing.
FLUFFING
In the beginning, all carpets of cut pile will lose some fibres. This is inherent to cut pile and should reduce in time. Fluffing will last on average between 6 to 24 months, depending on user intensity (walking on, vacuum cleaning).
UNDERLAY
If there are no heavy objects on the carpet, an underlay will prevent the carpet from moving.
DEVIATIONS IN SIZE
Casalis carpets are hand made. Shape and size can differ slightly. Don't have your carpet lined up with any straight seams in the floor, but have the carpet cover them, so that any irregularities are not noticed.
DISCOLOURING OF THE SUBFLOOR
The back of the carpet has no influence on the floor underneath.
RECEIPT OF NEW CARPET
Upon receipt of the new carpet, immediately remove it from the plastic wrapping in order to avoid the formation of moisture and mould.
COLORS
NON STANDARD COLOURS
Based on our colour reference boxes. Based on a reference sample (e.g. piece of fabric). Samples only possible as colour sample.
CRAFT & MATERIALS
HAND TUFTING
Manual tufting forms an efficient alternative to manual knotting. With the help of a handgun, the tufter shoots the yarn with a great deal of skill polar line by polar line until a carpet is formed. Due to its enormous flexibility, the technique allows for the production of true works of art. After the carpet is tufted, it's sheared to the right length.
NEW ZEALAND WOOL
Out of all the different wools, New Zealand wool is praised to be the whitest, allowing for a broader range of colour after dyeing. It is a blend of Merino and Down breeds who are specially selected for their comfort, strength, and performance. The wool is grown and processed in both New Zealand and Australia.
