PLY YELLOW RUGS

This is the Yellow model, the largest in the entire Ply series.

Gan Ply Yellow Rugs

It combines three shades, yellow and two neutral tones, with the alternation of two very different textures: a flat and small one for the base, and another one for the lines, so that they acquire a certain volume and a hypnotic effect.

The series also includes two other models: one in pink shades and circular format, and another one in blue tones with an elongated shape that works as a runner.

PLY, A RUG FROM OUR HAND-TUFTED COLLECTION

Hand-tufting is a manual rug-making method in which a special handheld tool shoots and cuts a portion of wool following a pattern over a stretched cotton fabric. This technique offers great freedom in terms of designs, thicknesses, finishes and colors. With it, GAN makes possible the impossible.

DETAILS

The Ply rug collection is a design by MUT Design studio based on a fascinating graphic pattern, thanks to the simplicity of its composition and the great visual impact it produces. On the one hand, a set of lines in semicircles make up a yellow sphere, lengthening its ends at different heights so that they end up generating a circular shape. On the other, a set of parallel lines in raw wool color partially intermingle with those of the sphere, originating an area with a denser pattern.

MUT DESIGN, DESIGNERS OF PLY

Founded by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón in 2010, MUT Design is a Valencia-based studio that works internationally, specializing in furniture and lighting design. Although they are mostly known for their creations in these two fields, throughout their career they have also addressed other typologies, such as coverings, textiles and even graphic work. In fact, their style stands out precisely because of the important graphic character that their designs convey, which over time has become the studio’s signature, proving their extraordinary talent to redefine the aesthetics of everyday objects, giving them a new expression and emotional magnitude.
