CARO CARPET

Casalis Caro Carpet

CARO CARPET

Designed by Liset van der Scheer

Elegant and comfortable. Chic yet discreet.

The Caro collection turns this apparent paradox into a real strength. Its subtle, reserved brilliance is the result of the intimate, original mix of silk and wool.

A Caro rug is the ultimate fusion of modern chic and discretion, even if you choose a brighter colour.

DEVIATIONS TO SIZE AND SHAPE

Because Casalis carpets are made by hand, slight deviations in shape and size can occur. These imperfections are part and parcel of a carpet made by hand and consequently cannot be valid grounds for complaints.

NON STANDARD COLOURS

-Based on our colour reference boxes. -Based on a reference sample (e.g. piece of fabric). - Samples only possible as colour sample.

COLOUR DIFFERENCES

Slight colour differences between yarn batches are characteristic of dying natural materials and consequently cannot be valid grounds for complaints.

CLEANING

A new Caro-carpet will lose fibres. This is typical of the wool used. Use the vacuum cleaner regularly to remove loose fibres

DESIGNER - LISET VAN DER SCHEER

After graduating from the Design Academy in Eindhoven she has been working as an independent industrial textile designer and colour expert. 'The importance of designing to me lies in marketing a product that adds to the identity that the consumer wishes to convey at a particular moment in time. In my designs, the challenge lies in applying traditional materials in an innovative way, or in applying new materials to an existing production process. I always try to stretch the bounds of possibility. Looking at colour has become my second nature, and in building designs, be it textiles or carpets, the starting point is always the expression of the yarn'.

CRAFT & MATERIALS

ROBOT TUFTING

For plain colour carpets or easy designs, a robot can replace the manual work of the handtufters, increasing the uniformity of the pile density and also allowing for new techniques (3D shapes).

SILK

For thousands of years, silk has been a symbol of luxury and wealth. The special softness together with the unmistakable gloss is also a major asset for Casalis in a few collections, whether as an accent, as a full carpet, or as a complement to another material.

MERINO WOOL

Casalis selected the wool from the beautiful Merino sheep as the most excellent material for some of our soft furnishing collections. Compared to regular wool, Merino wool feels softer to the skin as fibers are much finer, causing no itchy reactions when touching your skin. This makes Merino wool the ultimate wool for the production of plaids, cushions, and pouffes.
