MATERIAL & MAINTENANCE - MATTER 100% VISCOSE
Viscose, also called vegetable silk because of its appearance, presents itself as a response to the demand for shiny and soft carpets. Used in handmade tufted or woven rugs, this fiber resulting from the coagulation of cellulose cells from different qualities of wood, presents a certain fragility.
Very hydrophilic, the yarn will curl on contact with water, and if you want to avoid marks, you must dry the velvet as quickly as possible in the dryer, smoothing the velvet as much as possible with your fingers.
Cleaning will only be done by cleaning with dry powder. Combined with other fibers such as wool, viscose will gain strength while maintaining a shiny effect. Depending on the nature of the plants used, viscose will take the name Tencel based on eucalyptus, bamboo or banana fiber depending on the origins.
