STORY
Its roots spreaded in the state of Rajasthan, Tarkashi is a highly admired technique which is all about creating decor objects using flattened, gleaming wires of brass and inlaying them into a wood. The process involves cutting of the Acacia wood according to the product we are aiming to make.
Then, thin strips of wire are prepared for inlay. After this, the design or pattern is drawn on a paper using marking tools and pasted on the surface of the wood.
Now, the engraving is done with chisel and hammer and last but not least, the artist holds the wire, twists and manoeuvres it according to the drawn design and inlays in the wood.The amalgamation of Acacia wood and brass looks exceptionally imperial together and its ornamentation grabs all the attention.
