Crépuscule Change Tray
CRÉPUSCULE CHANGE TRAY
CRÉPUSCULE CHANGE TRAY
Designed by Guillaume Delvigne
The Crépuscule change tray is an accessory imagined by french designer Guillaume Delvigne for Maison Matisse.
Easily integrated into a workspace, on a small piece of furniture in an entrance hall, or as a pocket tray on a side table, it brings a touch of uniqueness to any decoration.
The marriage of natural cork with a bold color gives this piece a sober and cheerful look, like the work of Matisse. Available in two colors, it is also available as a bigger tray.
DESIGNER
GUILLAUME DELVIGNE
Born in France in 1979, Guillaume Delvigne studied at the Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique and the Politecnico di Milano. Graduated in 2002, he starts in Milan along-side George Sowden, co founder of the Memphis movement. In parallel he designs his first own objects, for an italian editor named Industreal and he is quickly spotted by Loïc Bigot from the ToolsGalerie. In 2005 he settles in Paris and for a few years he works for renowned designers such as RADI Designers, Delo Lindo, Elium Studio, Marc Newson or Cédric Ragot.
In 2011 he opens his own studio, inaugurates his first personal exhibition at the ToolsGalerie and receives the Grand Prize of the creation of the city of Paris.
Working in various fields like furniture, objects, lights or interior design, he collaborates with manufacturers, editors and craftmen. He leads now a lot of projects for great french companies such as Berluti, Hermès, Givenchy, Pierre Frey, Ligne Roset, Habitat, Lexon or Tefal.
By confronting heritage and cutting-edge innovations, combining French design heritage with Eastern cultural influence, Thomas Dariel’s open approach unfolds original perspectives.

INSPIRATION
The Crépuscule change tray is one of the desk accessories imagined in collaboration with Guillaume Delvigne. It is inspired by the irregularities of cuts present in the work Les Mille et Une Nuits (1950) by Henri Matisse so particular to the cut papers of the painter. The designer wanted to draw unique contours, as "accidental", echoing the creative process used by Matisse

ARTS AND MATERIALS
The cork used to create the pieces imagined by Guillaume Delvigne is a natural material 100% recycled, from eco-managed cork oak forests and produced by a FSC-certified specialist. First reduced to grain, then sifted to the ideal thickness, it is then "amalgamated" into blocks. Thanks to a very precise machine, the natural cork block is then carved into the edge to form the final piece. All waste from this process is recycled back into the first stage of production.
