Flamant Sieb Tray
SIEB TRAY
SIEB TRAY
This tray has been handmade using Naga wood in North-East India. Each example bears the mark of its maker and is therefore completely unique. The wood used differs from tree to tree, and depends on the size and age of the tree.
This means that each family or tribe including the Konyak, Phom, Ao, Lhota, Sema, Chang, Rengma, Angami, Zemi, Tangkhul and Kabuji sets to work with different wood and stores it in various ways.
For example, when the wood is stored in the kitchen it acquires a darker and more weathered look. In this way, each tray tells a different story.
Sieb, ideal for the presentation of magazines and plaids, is used in India to dry grains and rice. This is a unique handmade product so dimensions can vary.
