WILTON BEIGE RUG
WILTON BEIGE RUG
Designed by Toulemonde Bochart
The Wilton rug, featuring a refined beige shade and subtle faux-plain design, embodies a pinnacle of refinement and craftsmanship.
Handmade in our workshops in India, this rug is the result of a sophisticated velvet sculpture process, giving the pattern a unique dimension thanks to a captivating optical illusion.
The design, created in relief, plays with light to reveal darker shades, generating a rich and lively visual effect that brings a touch of finesse and elegance to the environment.
The use of tencel for the Wilton rug was carefully considered. Known for its silky-soft texture and distinct shine, this material gives the rug a luxurious look and superior comfort.

MANUFACTURING (HAND WOVEN)
A semi-mechanized process, hand weaving can be done on flat looms (pit loom) or on shuttle looms, a simple version of jacquard looms (looms). Here no knot, but a loop held by the tightening of the weft. Gluing keeps the whole thing in place. This process can be used on plains or simple geometries (frames, stripes, squares, etc.).
MATERIAL & MAINTENANCE - MATTER 100% TENCEL®
Viscose, also called vegetable silk because of its appearance, presents itself as a response to the demand for shiny and soft carpets. Used in handmade tufted or woven rugs, this fiber resulting from the coagulation of cellulose cells from different qualities of wood, presents a certain fragility.
Very hydrophilic, the yarn will curl on contact with water, and if you want to avoid marks, you must dry the velvet as quickly as possible in the dryer, smoothing the velvet as much as possible with your fingers. Cleaning will only be done by cleaning with dry powder. Combined with other fibers such as wool, viscose will gain strength while maintaining a shiny effect.
Depending on the nature of the plants used, viscose will take the name Tencel based on eucalyptus, bamboo or banana fiber depending on the origins.
