KINTSUGI BOWL / PLATE

Designed by Michele De Lucchi

The kintsugi collection begins with fragments of wood joined using simple screws. Two walnut plates and an ash bowl come together like pieces of a puzzle.

These small constructions only take on meaning once assembled, drawing inspiration from the ancient japanese technique of kintsugi, where cracks in broken objects are not concealed but highlighted.

This approach gives value to the manual act of care and repair, restoring dignity and meaning to the object.

Assembling the fragments calls for patience and precision, with no reliance on technology. The process encourages a calm, accepting state of mind, as the result takes shape gradually, step by step.
