The yellow hand-tufted wool rug, also known as Tumulus, represents the latest creation by Samuel Accoceberry for Toulemonde Bochart.
Following its artistic approach which celebrates the artisanal skills of Indian workshops, Accoceberry has imagined a pattern which highlights the exceptional dexterity of the weavers.
These talented artisans are capable of creating volumes and reliefs through weaving techniques, particularly in looped or cut velvet.
The bold shape of this rug, made up of 3 colorful petals, elegantly occupies the space while refocusing attention towards the heart of the composition.
This Tumulus, made by hand using the tufted technique, deploys its lines with great precision, offering a scarified velvet surface which evokes the serenity of a Zen garden.

The hand-tufted yellow wool rug, in its saffron version, creates a warm harmony through shades of yellow and brown, while the blue Tumulus presents a fresher color palette. The falsely round shape of this simple patterned rug allows it to fit harmoniously into an entryway as well as into a corner living room.
CLEANING
It should be noted that the maintenance of this wool rug is easy. Simply vacuum it regularly without using a brush, and a thorough cleaning by a professional approximately every 4 years, depending on its use, will keep it in optimal condition.

Samuel Accoceberry's work affirms an intrinsic simplicity, through respect for know-how and materials, whether artisanal or industrial. It is in this approach that he offers Toulemonde Bochart these two visions of the ground.
DETAIL
MANUFACTURING (HAND WOVEN)
The drawing is printed on a canvas, stretched over a frame. The threads are stitched into this canvas by a gun, either manual or electric, to form the velvet. This velvet is shaved, inspected. The backrest is glued with latex to maintain the velvet, then protected by canvas or mesh. It takes approximately 3 days to tuft a rug, then 3 days for latexing and drying and finally 4 to 5 days for all the finishing touches.
MATERIAL & MAINTENANCE - MATTER 100% TENCEL®
Wool rugs impress with their comfort, resistance and ease of maintenance. The wools used for carpets are stiff and resistant to crushing.
Handmade tufted or woven wool rugs, as well as knotted, provide excellent color retention. They combine visual comfort, acoustic comfort by absorbing noise in the velvet, and living comfort by playing a role as a hygrometric regulator.
The wool's scale fiber prevents dirt from becoming embedded and promotes cleaning. At a carpet cleaning specialist, it will be washed with a mild detergent using plenty of water.
However, regular maintenance with a brushless vacuum cleaner and occasional stain removal with bed base soil will only allow this cleaning to be carried out every 3 to 4 years.
