DESIGN
This local manufacturing decision eliminates the need to transport raw materials across continents, making the mackintosh nordic an option that combines beauty and ecological responsibility.
In short, mackintosh nordic goes far beyond the simple idea of a rug, to become an authentic statement of taste and ethical principles. It is not just a decorative object, but a concrete manifestation of the artisanal expertise and determination for sustainability that define toulemonde bochart. This rug is therefore much more than a simple ornament; it is an incentive to live in a place that embodies values of elegance, high quality and ecological sensitivity.
MAINTENANCE
HAND TUFTED
The drawing is printed on a canvas, stretched over a frame. The threads are stitched into this canvas by a gun, either manual or electric, to form the velvet.
MATTER 100% WOOL
Wool rugs impress with their comfort, resistance and ease of maintenance. The wools used for carpets are stiff and resistant to crushing.
Handmade tufted or woven wool rugs, as well as knotted, provide excellent color retention. They combine visual comfort, acoustic comfort by absorbing noise in the velvet, and living comfort by playing a role as a hygrometric regulator.
The wool's scale fiber prevents dirt from becoming embedded and promotes cleaning. At a carpet cleaning specialist, it will be washed with a mild detergent using plenty of water. However, regular maintenance with a brushless vacuum cleaner and occasional stain removal with bed base soil will only allow this cleaning to be carried out every 3 to 4 years.
This velvet is shaved, inspected. The backrest is glued with latex to maintain the velvet, then protected by canvas or mesh. It takes approximately 3 days to tuft a rug, then 3 days for latexing and drying and finally 4 to 5 days for all the finishing touches.
