This sculpture, belonging to the Disgiunti cycle, reflects more closely the research performed by the sculptor on the abstract transposition of the human figure and its movements: together with the San Cristoforo Barghigiano (2009) and the Bianca Odalisca (2011), this work resumes indeed the plastic research applied to the human anatomy, already explored in the past by some great maestros of the Twentieth-century, aimed at overcoming the antithesis between figurative and abstract, in order to come to a universal formal language.
DESIGNER
BRUTO POMODORO
Bruto Pomodoro was born in Milan (Italy) in 1961.
His artistic research, strictly abstract, approaches the most hidden aspects of alive world through an individual "symbolic-narrative" language, based on a careful study of the chromatic and composing relations.
Among his pictorial cycles we remind the following works: the Contemplations, the Square's Praises, the Algenic Codes and the Separates.
These last paintings are directed to interpret the breaking down of the form of archetype figure accor- ding to the law of thermodynamics.
From 2006 Pomodoro develops his distinctive Archetypes in three-dimensional key, coming through the use of collages and resins, to the traditional free-standing sculpture, either in stone or bronze, following a path coherent to his rich pictorial production, in a well-balance relation between classicism and modernity. The artist lives and works in Pietrasanta (Tuscany).
