Historic Provenance 

This design is inspired by a pair of 10th–11th-century decorative medallions from China’s Liao dynasty (907–1125). The Museum’s sandstone medallions reflect the era’s cultural richness. Reimagined through the lens of The Met x Eichholtz, the Wall Object Liao honors this historical legacy in a form suited to today’s interiors.

To ensure your Eichholtz GFRC products maintain their beauty and durability, follow these care instructions. GFRC is a porous material similar to natural stone, and our products are treated with a nano sealer to resist stains.

MAINTENANCE 

If the surface becomes scratched or damaged, reapply a water-based sealer or wax to maintain protection and preserve its appearance over time.

CLEANING 

Clean your GFRC product with mild soap (like dish soap) and water. Avoid harsh cleansers, bleach, ammonia, or acidic natural cleaners as they may compromise the protective sealer.

STAIN PREVENTION

Regular use should not stain your GFRC product due to the nano sealer barrier. However, promptly wipe up spills to prevent potential penetration and discoloration. Oils and acidic substances can stain if left unattended.

ENHANCED PROTECTION 

Optional wax coatings can further enhance stain resistance. Test any wax on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't alter the appearance.
