MAINTENANCE
HAND-TUFTED
The design is printed onto a canvas stretched over a frame. Threads are tufted into this canvas using a tufting gun, either manual or electric, to create the pile. This pile is then sheared and inspected. The backing is coated with LaTeX to secure the pile, and then protected with a canvas or mesh. It takes approximately 3 days to tuft a rug, then 3 days for the LaTeX coating and drying, and finally 4 to 5 days for all the finishing touches.

Wool rugs are prized for their comfort, durability, and ease of care. The wool used for rugs is resilient and resistant to crushing. Hand-tufted, woven, or knotted wool rugs offer excellent colorfastness.
They combine visual comfort, acoustic comfort by absorbing sound in the pile, and living comfort by acting as a humidity regulator. The scaly fibers of wool prevent dirt from becoming embedded and facilitate cleaning.
At a professional rug cleaning service, the rug will be washed with a mild detergent and plenty of water. However, regular vacuuming without a brush attachment and occasional stain removal with fuller's earth will allow for professional cleaning only every 3 to 4 years.
