Anna Stick comes from the archive of unrealized projects by Alessandro Mendini: a pair of ebony chopsticks decorated with a cast steel figure representing Anna G., the Milanese architect’s iconic figure.
This includes a fish-shaped table stand, also made of micro-cast steel, which refers directly to one of the many elements formalized in Mendinigraph, Mendini’s design alphabet.

ALESSANDRO MENDINI
Born in Milan in 1931, Alessandro Mendini was one of the main innovators of Italian design in the 1980s.
Internationally renowned architect, artist, designer, design manager and theorist, he edited leading magazines on the culture of design, spreading his calls for renewal.
His long association with Alessi was culturally multifaceted: official historiographer, designer of iconic objects such as the Anna G. corkscrew, architect of the Alessi Museum, of extensions to the Omegna headquarters and of temporary exhibitions, he was the creator and coordinator of projects that have helped transform the company into one of the factories of renowned Italian Design.

A best seller since it was first produced in 1994, the Anna G. corkscrew is a tongue-in-cheek homage to a real woman. Her smiling face has become something of a cult figure over the years, giving birth (so to speak) to a rich family of objects for the table and kitchen in a wide range of materials.
